Zane Wilemon
Founder / Executive Director
Back in 2000, Zane was introduced to Maai Mahiu, where he experienced a level of poverty and desperation he had never known. Since his first visit, Zane has been returning to Kenya, listening to stories from the community, addressing problems, and promoting fundamental human rights. With the help of a lot of amazing people, CTC was born and has been creating sustainable change in Maai Mahiu for the last 11 years.
Jeremiah Kuria
Kenya Director
Jeremiah is responsible for introducing Zane to the community of Maai Mahiu, and their friendship and collaboration resulted in the creation of CTC International. After earning his master's degree in the U.S., Jeremiah returned to Kenya to serve as our Kenya Director, where he now oversees all initiatives, programs, and personnel working on the ground in Maai Mahiu.
Rocky Muuri
Environmental Coordinator
From the moment you meet Rocky, his overwhelming desire to care for our earth is undeniable. Rocky began working with CTC as a volunteer and served as the spokesperson for the community's environmental needs. He currently manages several demonstration gardens, a tree nursery, and he educates the community, young and old, on sustainable agriculture.
Liz Josiah
Malaika Mums Coordinator
Graduating from Maai Mahiu Polytechnic School, Liz now teaches CTC's Malaika Mums. She is in charge of coordinating the L.I.F.E. Bags operation in Kenya, by overseeing the instruction and productivity of our Mums.

Malaika Kids Caretakers
Our Malaika Kids, a group of special needs children in the commnity, are taken care of by this wonderful group of women. They have been trained to oversee physical therapy, education fundamentals, and childhood development.

Malaika Mums
Our Malaika Mums are the awesome group of ladies that produce CTC's L.I.F.E. Line of handmade and environmentally friendly products. Each of these women has a child with special needs, and the L.I.F.E. Line offers an income for the Mums, allowing them to support their families and enroll their children in our Malaika Kids program.
Cali Huffman
Director of Design & Branding
Starting as an intern in January 2010, Cali tackled CTC's rebranding effort. Eventually traveling to Kenya on a team last August, Cali has now taken on the responsibility of creating a unified image that conveys the work we do in Kenya.
Charles Wachira
HIV/AIDS Program Director
Charles started working as a volunteer for CTC over 5 years ago. He worked as the liaison between CTC and its volunteers, while going to school and completing his Master's in Non-Profit Management. He now serves as Program Director for our rapidly growing HIV/AIDS program, overseeing our clinic, outreach programs, support groups, and income-generating activities.
Faith Kuria
Kenya Office Manager
Originally from Nairobi, Faith joined our Kenya staff in the summer of 2010. You can find her running the office in Maai Mahiu, managing our finances, and doing whatever it takes to make sure all of our programs are running smoothly.
Bernard Owino
HIV/AIDS Program Assistant & Youth Coordinator
Owino joined CTC 5 years ago as a volunteer, and he committed himself to bringing positive activities to the youth of Maai Mahiu. Becoming an employee in 2010, he now helps with the HIV/AIDS program and drives the CTC ambulance. Also serving as Youth Coordinator, he oversees after-school programs and a youth soccer league.
Andi Scull
Product Development & Events
In Dec 1999 Andi traveled to Kenya and fell in love with Africa! From then on her journey to bring local and global communities together through creative ideas and good intentions began. Andi spreads awareness stateside by creating new ways for CTC to grow, share and build bridges between Kenya and the US.
Whitney Snell
Executive Assistant
Whitney joined CTC in the fall of 2010 to fulfill an internship for her Master's in Non-Profit Management. She loved it so much that she just never left, and she now helps manage the U.S. office, coordinates grant proposals, and assists with program development and evaluation.
Damon Hartye
Event Coordination/Development Associate
After interning with such distinguished non-profits as Livestrong, Nobelity Project, and Greenlights, Damon brought his non-profit expertise to CTC to assist with fundraising, event production, and general office operations. His addition also successfully doubled the male population of the U.S. office!
Nancy Rosenthal
Event Coordination/Office Assistant
Nancy gained experience planning & producing events through her work with Summit Series, and she now manages rentals of the CTC Garden, harnesses social media to promote community engagement and awareness, and helps with general administrative duties.
Teesa Bahana
Rafiki Link/Team Coordinator
Ugandan by nationality and born and raised in Zambia, Teesa is proud to represent Africa in the Austin office. She acts as liaison between schools in Kenya and North America through Rafiki Link, CTC’s technology program that connects youth around the world. She also works with CTC’s Kenya Director to assess local needs to build team profiles and help prepare volunteers for their trips to Kenya.
Rebecca Mbuti
Education Coordinator
Rebecca joined CTC in the summer of 2010 as Rafiki Link Coordinator but found her role expanding as CTC grew. Through her work planning overall education initiatives, she became Education Coordinator for CTC. Hailing from Mombasa, she has been able to blend well with the people and culture of Maai Mahiu and especially enjoys empowering the community on educational matters.
