Last Monday at Bodwell High School in North Vancouver, Canada, six students stood in front of their school to share thoughts, memories, and lessons learned from their April 2011 experience in Maai-Mahiu, Kenya. One student spoke powerfully about the importance of “being aware of how privileged we are.”
After each student spoke about their trip, the group shared an amazing video about their experience. The video included the Bodwell students visiting Malaika Kids, the CTC disabled children's daycare; the students scrambling through mud and dark tunnels on the edge of the Rift Valley to reach the home of a Rafiki Link student, Samuel; and Canadian and Kenyan students showcasing their abilities at the end-of-trip Talent Show.
Thank you Bodwell High School for your continued connection with the Maai Mahiu community. And thank you to Maai Mahiu Secondary students for welcoming visitors into your school and your lives.
Asante,
Mali Bain, North American Rafiki Link Coordinator
