Global Non-Profit Creates New Headquarters in Austin, TX to Support Local Community Events & Outreach
Austin, Texas, (May 2nd, 2011) -- CTC (Comfort the Children) International welcomes the Austin community to their new headquarters located in the former home of landscape design company Big Red Sun.
In early January owner of Big Red Sun Selena Souders and founder of CTC Zane Wilemon discussed the transition of the once nursery boutique to an office space and garden café.
“In 2003 we started Comfort the Children International, a non-profit that seeks to walk with local communities in Kenya, listening to their stories and developing programs that create opportunity for empowerment,” says Wilemon. “Our approach to international development is holistic as we recognize that we cannot address one area of need within the community adequately without addressing all areas equally.”
Big Red Sun has relocated two blocks down Cesar Chavez on the corner of Navasota St. and continues to offer landscape design and small retail items.
“We want the venue to remain a beautiful addition to the Austin East side community and still be available to support other local non-profits and private events,” said Andi Scull (CTC Director of Development).
Please come by and view our amazing new home. And while your here enjoy a taco or two from the delicious LockDown Taco's (9am-9pm), a food trailer in our outdoor garden space. We are also renting out our space for weddings, happy hours, and events year round! All these income generating projects help make the CTC Headquarters financially self-sustaining.
