#loveisproject: Join The Movement

LIFE Line + The Supply Change

Join The Movement:

This week LIFE Line announced the #loveisproject on the crowd-funding platform Indiegogo in collaboration with our long-time partner The Supply Change, a company focused on building relationships between the design industry and global artisan communities. The #loveisproject is driven by the handmade and beautifully crafted LOVE Bracelet, a new product designed for individuals to “wear their love,” share a movement around the world, and empower a community of women in Kenya.

We are raising money to produce the LOVE Bracelet, raise awareness, provide sustainable jobs, and connect communities through love. The campaign started December 9th and will run through January 14th with a fundraising goal of $5,000. Update: 24 hours in we have passed our initial goal of $5,000 and currently sit at $7000+! We are seeing an outpouring of LOVE from our amazing CTC community and beyond.

100 Year Old LOVE

“The products we wear reflect the choices we make: we hold the power to shift the fashion and lifestyle industry. Our choices show our values and how beautiful to choose to wear LOVE, positively impact Maasai communities in Kenya, and share your individual story of LOVE with the world. We have the ability to make choices that empower individuals through economic opportunities, and in this case, it’s as simple as deciding what we put on our wrist. We can all know and share our LOVE. And that shared LOVE has the power to shift the world." LIFE Line Founder and Executive Director, Zane Wilemon.

The LOVE Bracelet is made by LIFE Line’s Maasai Mums in their traditional beadwork, creating sustainable income and empowering women to provide for their families through entrepreneurial opportunities. Beaded with red to represent bravery, strength, and unity among the Maasai, the LOVE Bracelet connects the maker and the wearer around the world with a common purpose. Chrissie Lam, founder of The Supply Change, designed the bracelet with the Maasai in April 2013 and spent the summer of 2014 traveling the globe with her bracelet, inspired to ask friends and strangers alike what love meant to them. Through the creation of this photo concept, the #loveisproject was born.

Maasai LOVE

“This summer, I traveled to 18 countries in 2 months, meeting 127 people of 48 nationalities. From Siberia, Russia and the Gobi Desert of Mongolia to Israel and Palestine, I photographed people along the way wearing the LOVE Bracelet as they shared what love meant to them. Even in the most remote places on earth, I discovered love everywhere and in everyone. People’s excitement for the project inspired a movement to increase empathy and understanding, fuel empowerment, and bring us all a little closer together.” Chrissie Lam, The Supply Change

LIFE Line and The Supply Change are making the LOVE Bracelet available through the #loveisproject Indiegogo Campaign at: bit.ly/theloveisproject. The LIFE Line and Supply Change team are excited to share the LOVE Bracelet in the spirit of “ubuntu: I am because we are,” and invite individuals to join the movement of empowerment and love.
