It was on 5th May when youth from Maai Mahiu traveled to Nakuru to participate in a competition organized by Arise African Youth. The youth have been rehearsing at the CTC Resource Centre daily for 2 months waiting for the big day. The CTC Youth Program has been creating opportunity for the youth to help them realize their huge potential and talent in society.
Our youth participated in modeling, free style rap and dancing. Being their first time to perform outside the home area they were so excited! They were all winners, dominating the show and winning lots of prizes!
These winners will represent Arise Africa Youth Kenya in Tanzania for Arise Youth African Academy Award August 17 to 21 this year. Eight of our youth will represent us under Owen Muriuki as team leader, Paul Thuku, Sandra Njoki, Martin Karuga, Alex Mukira, John Njoroge, Simon Ndung’u and Margrate Wanjiru.
