In 2000, I traveled to Kenya. I made a friend named Jeremiah Kuria, who brought me to his village called Maai Mahiu. While there I experienced a level of poverty and desperation I had never known. I returned home to the U.S. broken and confused. I shared what I had seen. One year later I returned to Kenya with friends. We built a school. We listened to stories. We built friendships. We became Comfort the Children International.

CTC's approach to community development is holistic, recognizing that we cannot address one area adequately without addressing all areas equally.
