CTC International prides itself on its "mile deep and inch wide" mentality when approaching community development. We started 10 years ago constructing a school, and we are now the largest employer in a city of 60,000+ people. Our initiatives focus on five specific needs: Education, Environment, Economy, Health and Community. Each area directly impacts the community as a whole and each is interrelated to the success of one another. All CTC initiatives are managed by full-time local Kenyan staff and community volunteers. Adult Literacy Aims to ensure that a positive impact will be felt among the illiterate groups in Maai Mahiu whom are being marginalized.
Knowledge & Resource Center Breaking ground in 2012, the KRC will be the 1st library in Maai Mahiu.
Malaika Kids A school for special needs children, the first in the surrounding area. 
 
Poultry Project Providing jobs for youth in the community, the poultry project focuses on raising indigenous, free-range birds for the sale of both eggs and chicks.
Community Gardens Demonstration gardens and clubs for youth that teach sustainable farming methods and promote environmental awareness.
 
L.I.F.E. Line Products handmade by women in Kenya to support the education of special needs children.
Café Ubuntu Currently being constructed - coming September 2012!
 
GAPA  Grandparents Against Poverty & HIV/AIDS empowers grandparents and orphaned children through support groups, trainings, and income-generating activities. 
HIV/AIDS Center Provides free testing, counseling and community outreach, focusing on education, prevention and treatment across all age groups. 
Medical Teams CTC partners with medical professionals to bring doctors and nurses to Kenya.
 
Youth Empowerment Nurtures the youth in the community through a variety of activities and clubs.
Waste Management The first ever waste management service provided in Maai Mahiu, founded by CTC youth.
Livestock Co-op In collaboration with Brown’s Cheese, CTC is providing farmers with a steady market and a fair wage for the sale of goat’s milk and sheep’s milk.
